In March of 2005, Si Tanka University closed its door leaving Huron with out post-secondary education. In March of 2007, the City of Huron reclaimed ownership of the Fine Arts Center. Huron Community Campus was open for the fall semester in August of 2007. HCC has teamed with highly respected South Dakota colleges, universities, and technical schools and Cornerstones Career Learning Center to provide a comprehensive menu of courses and classes. This partnership will offer education options for students of all levels to invest in themselves to achieve professional and personal goals.

HCC promotes life advancement through retraining, mentoring, optimizing talents, and challenging each individual regardless of age, academic experience, or professional training to achieve their highest goals.
